Sunbird is the ‘ideal’ small aloe – stemless and beautiful blue-grey plant and well-structured, branched inflorescences with red to yellow racemes. The plant and flower are very well-balanced as a unit, making this an exceptional little aloe indeed.

Plant in a pot or sheltered front of the rockery. Sunbird, as with all other aloes, like compost in the soil. It does not require full sun, partial sun for part of the day is adequate, but too much shade will fade the flower colour. It is pure gardening pleasure when the flowers open - any time from autumn to winter. Sunbirds love this flower, and so will any gardener! Plant with Berry Blush and challenge anybody to identify which is which – until the flowers open, that is.
