Meet Ruthe Gray
KZN's only registered Grower & Nursery of Sunbird Hybrid Aloes
Ruthe Gray joined the Sunbird Aloes family in 2015 as a licensed grower, and she now grows a top selection of Sunbird Aloes cultivars. Ruthe is a qualified horticulturist and educator by trade. She qualified in Commercial Horticulture in 1998 from Writtle University College. In 2004, Ruthe and her South African husband came to live in South Africa. She worked for Dunrobin on the cold climate section in the Burne Valley, Richmond, and moved to Blackwood Nursery in 2007 as their startup grower.
In 2013, Ruthe became a qualified lecturer for Umfolozi College - NCV Agriculture. Specializing in Advanced Plant Production as the Practical lecturer. Also mentoring the N4 WBE Diploma Agriculture Management students, as part of their practicals.
Ruthe has mentored Hydroponics for a community local project in Vuma. In 2018, she opened the new Ndundulu Aloes Nursery as the registered producer and grower of Sunbird Aloes in Kzn. She still advises, gives free talks and mentors people in Agriculture and is involved in various projects of giving back to people and communities.
